ABOUT
The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four civil/vertical construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, vertical construction, site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Form Work Carpenter is responsible for executing various carpentry tasks to support the successful completion of construction projects within the Civil Construction Services division. This position requires a high level of proficiency in carpentry techniques and practices, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and project specifications.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands the means and methods of construction associated concrete construction (including reinforced concrete structures, culverts, walls, bridges and slip form paving etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches, in preparation of layout to determine dimensions and type of material required.
- Build and/or assemble wood or metal forms for the construction of concrete floors, slabs, walls, columns, tilt-walls, elevated concrete slabs, elevator cores, stairways, etc.
- Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations and may aid in installing reinforcing steel.
- Understands the means and methods of construction associated concrete construction (including reinforced concrete structures, culverts, walls, bridges and slip form paving etc.)
- Ability to construct, erect, install and repair structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
- Recognize various materials used in carpentry and demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate material handling techniques
- Demonstrate ability to properly build and brace concrete forms using various systems.
- Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in form carpentry within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to carpentry work.
- Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to listen, follow directions and communicate effectively with others.
- Must be able to lift, pull and manage heavy equipment and objects up to 50 pounds.
- Work effectively to ensure deadlines of job are met.
Travel
- Travel will be required. Must be willing to travel and work from project sites across the Southeast for long periods of time.
