1. JOB REQUIREMENTS
1.1. High School diploma or GED is a plus but not required.
1.2. Experience in form carpentry is a plus.
1.3. Form carpenters must have strong mathematical skills, be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans, and have a good understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
1.4. Adaptable, problem solver, and can-do attitude at all times.
1.5. Understand how to follow instructions.
1.6. Must have a good understanding of building codes and regulations related to reinforcing bars and mesh.
1.7. They must be physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments, and able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
1.8. Additionally, must be able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with other workers on the project.
1. PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1.1. Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans to determine the dimensions and shape of the form to be built.
1.2. Measuring and cutting lumber or other materials to the required length, width, and thickness for the form.
1.3. Assembling the form by securing the pieces together with nails, screws, or bolts.
1.4. Making adjustments to the form as needed to ensure it is level and plumb.
1.5. Installing reinforcing steel or mesh within the form to provide additional structural support.
1.6. Applying release agents to the form to prevent the concrete from sticking.
1.7. Pouring and finishing the concrete, then removing the form once the concrete has set.
1.8. Maintaining tools and equipment used in form carpentry, such as saws, drills, hammers, and levels.
1.9. Communicating with other members of the construction team, such as engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure the form is built to the required specifications.
1.10. Daily Inventory of all the tools used during the day, ensuring they are in good working condition for the following day. Report if not.
