Shipping and Receiving/Forklift Driver

Lithotype Company, a 100% Employee-Owned flexo flexible packaging company in Bolingbrook, IL, is seeking Shipping and Receiving/Forklift Operator to become an integral part of their team.

Job Summary (purpose of the position)

Handles and prepares all incoming and outgoing orders according to schedule. Moves materials to and from production. Handles trash disposal. Stages and places inventory in Warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Compares identifying information and counts incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

Receives all incoming materials and stages them in assigned areas.

Prepares product for shipment.

Load and unloads materials and products using fork lift and/or other equipment.

Delivers and removes materials and products from the production area.

Responsible for trash pick-up and removal.

Proper operation of equipment to safety and productivity requirement for lift truck or hand trucks and movement or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.

Operates the stretch wrap banders

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Essential Skills

Must have the ability and experience to safely operate fork lift equipment

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

With supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolving problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. .

Desirable Skills/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree; or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 1 year experience in shipping/receiving function.

Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification.
