As our company continues to thrive and grow, we are now seeking a Forklift Operator/Material Handler on 2nd Shift (4:30pm - 3:00am) for our Richmond, Indiana location.
Starting pay: $16.50/ hour plus 0.50/hour shift differential for working 2nd Shift. Increases at 6 months and 12 months the first year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Know and follow safety requirements for the shop and for your job/work area including required guarding and personal protective equipment.
- Read work orders and follow oral instructions to ascertain tubing to be moved to warehouse for storage and to cutting areas.
- Load machines with tubing to be cut.
- Remove finished goods with a lift truck, close boxes or contain, wrap with shrink wrap or band with steel strapping as needed.
- Move tubing to the warehouse or to cutting area utilizing lift truck.
- Verify quantities on inbound shipments of tubing.
- Assist inventory control in locating tubing where tags are missing.
- Attach inventory control tags on inbound tubing and finished goods.
- Conduct daily safety checks on material handling equipment and report any problems to the supervisor.
- Assist in the Shipping Department, as required.
- Assist in physical inventory on a quarterly basis, or as required.
- Build boxes, prepare containers and racks for finished goods as needed for production.
- Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist loading or moving materials and products.
- Operate shrink wrap machine, electronic scale, pneumatic banding tools, and pneumatic box staplers.
- Assist in the Recut Department as required.
- Blow out tubing as required or directed by supervisor.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Perform basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Keep the tube path (straps, rails, rollers, tooling) free of chips and debris. Top off fluids and grease. Replace pads on tooling. Replace easily broken and worn parts such as brushes, belts, and airlines. Know when to call maintenance when necessary work is beyond your capability.

Essential Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Forklift Operating/ Material handling experience required
- Preferred experience in steel manufacturing
