Position Overview:
A forklift driver operates a forklift truck in order to receive, store, stage and distribute material and products within the facility.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Conveys materials and items in a safe and responsible manner from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas; utilizes forklift, hand truck, scissor lift, etc. and also moves items manually.
Performs daily preventive maintenance on assigned forklift.
Sorts and places materials or items on racks or shelves according to pre-determined sequence as to size, type or product code.
Fills requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials or other stock items, and distributes items.
Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
Performs all duties in accordance with company safety standards.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and abilities required to perform this job
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate a forklift truck, stock picker/man lifts, and lifts with attachments, in a safe manner. Must be able to operate a RF device proficiently. A non-fear of heights up to 40 feet. Forklift and stock picker certification is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, see, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and sit. The employee will use hands to handle objects, tools, and perform computer data entry functions. In putting up stock, the employee will reach, stoop, bend, twist, and crouch. The employee must be able to traverse all three levels of the "mousetrap" in putting up stock. In operating the forklift, the employee must be able to get up and down off the forklift multiple times every hour. The employee must frequently lift and move items weighing between 10 and 60 pounds on a regular basis.
