Assist the manufacturing facility including all departments to ensure constant production flow by moving material efficiently and safely as needed.
- The Forklift Operator works through out the entire plant safely and efficiently driving forklifts along with other material moving equipment. Works in a systematic method to complete regular duties as well as assigned duties.
- Constantly operates forklift inside as well as outside the facility. Lifts and takes away scrap material including a daily routine of steel and brass chips removal. Continuously uses eye to foot and hand coordination to operate propane and gas forklifts.
- Works with and follows Basic Rules of Manufacturing, General Dynamics OTS Environmental Policy, ISO Documentation, Quality Policy and other work related policies.
- At all times demonstrates forklift safety including wearing seat belt and common safety practices associated with the manufacturing environment and the use of hand or industrial equipment. Adheres to bulk propane management as well as hazardous material handling.
- Is required to recognize problems, make corrective adjustments and /or notify appropriate supervision. Follows the 5 S’s by routinely sorting, setting in order, shining, standardizing and sustaining the work area. Verifies equipment is in proper working order.
Certified Forklift Operator or previous work experience in forklift operation or any combination of education, training or work related experience that, in the eyes of a supervisor, would qualify the individual to meet the majority of the items listed.
