Forklift Operator Lead - 1St Shift (7Am-5Pm)

Are you looking for your next career in the transportation industry? We are currently hiring for a Freight Handler! Our Freight Handlers are responsible for loading and unloading freight from trailers. This position works in a fast paced yet very rewarding environment! Our Freight Handlers play a crucial role on our Operations team to ensure freight gets where it needs to go.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7am-5pm
Pay:$25.00/hr
What you can expect a typical day to look like:

• Ensure all team members are on time and ready to work
• Inspect the dock to make sure it is clean and a safe work environment
• Operate yard hostler to move trailers to and from doors
• Coordinate dock operations with Dispatch
• Meet with Operation Supervisors for daily assignments
• Assists with loading and unloading a wide variety of freight

What you will need to succeed on the job:

• At least 18 years of age
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds
• Previous Forklift experience -preferred
• Previous supervisory or management experience - preferred
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to perform frequent squatting and crouching to handle freight.
• Must be able to safely maneuver freight/pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart with a force of up to 130 pounds with mechanical aid.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to frequently reach for freight at waist level or above shoulder height.
• Must be able to help load and unload full trailers of freight weighing up to 45,000 pounds with mechanical aid.
• Must be able to open and close cargo doors and to climb into and out of vehicles.
