Forklift Operator/Material Handler

We are currently hiring for one of our Forklift Operator positions. We operate sit-down propane tank forklifts here at pallet express. You will be trained in multiple departments because we need our Forklift Operators to be versatile around the plant. The starting pay is 17.00/hr with opportunities in the future of payraises according to performance and attendance. We require atleast 2 years experience on sit-down forklifts in some kind of industrial setting or warehouse setting. Handling stacks of pallets is much different then carrying one pallet on your forks and placing materials on it so if your forklift experience was palletizing materials on a pallet that is not the kind of forklift experience we are looking for. We will also give an on the spot forklift test to see what your abilities and skills are on the forklift and also test your safety knowledge. Yard Forklift Operator

We are looking for experienced Forklift Operators with strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently with all departments.

The ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment both indoor and outdoor is required.

**** 7 am – 3:30 pm Monday - Friday, with available overtime

**** $15 per hour and a performance raise after a 90-day review

As a Forklift Operator & Material Handler you will be responsible for:

• Operate a forklift to safely transport inventory around the warehouse
• Perform light maintenance on forklifts and report any issues to the maintenance department immediately for repair
• Maintain an accurate count of inventory from production lines
• Perform quality checks on repaired inventory before moving to storage
• Inspect inventory to ensure material is free of defects prior to loading trailer
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized and maintain safety procedures
• Report any safety issues within the warehouse to the supervisor immediately
• Perform other duties as necessary to maintain interdepartmental productivity to meet all customer needs

We are interested in hiring a team player with the ability to occupy themselves with new tasks as needed. You must have a solid work ethic and always be prompt, on time, and committed to maintaining consistent work attendance and productivity.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

• At least 1 year of recent experience operating sit down Propane-powered forklifts
• Basic math skills required
• Attention to detail
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, push, & pulling 50 to 70 lbs as needed throughout the workday
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
• Work full-time hours and be available to work additional hours including some weekends as necessary
