Bushel Boy Farms is a year-round grower of fresh, vine-ripened tomatoes and strawberries with a state-of-the-art research facility experimenting with additional varieties of produce. Bushel Boy’s parent company, Rahr Corporation, is a family-owned global leader in the production and distribution of barley malt and related brewing supplies in operation since 1847. The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and prompt transportation of product and materials from one point in the facility to another. The Forklift Operator participates in keeping production schedules on time by ensuring products and materials are moved efficiently.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loads and unloads company products.
- Transports materials to different locations within the facility.
- Optimizes loads to ensure operational efficiency.
- Secures loads of products or materials to the machine before transportation.
- Adheres to production schedules.
- Operates other farms equipment as needed.
- Ensures equipment is clean and in good working condition.
- Identifies safety concerns and proactively communicates them to manager and supervisor.
- Adheres to Bushel Boy Farms personal hygiene standards and follows all food safety, occupational health and safety, and operational policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Previous experience working with produce or greenhouse/warehouse environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in operating technical machinery and farm equipment.
- Ability to meet and exceed productivity standards and commit to long hours when necessary to reach goals.
- Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and commitment by ensuring work responsibilities and goals are met.
- Demonstrates consistent adherence to workplace safety procedures and policies and reports potentially unsafe conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. - Regularly sit in equipment and walk on a concrete surface for long periods of time (8+ hours).
- Work in a greenhouse environment with variable and fluctuating temperatures where temperatures may be between 54°F to 95°F.
- Work on and around powered industrial equipment and background noise in a fast-paced environment.
- Regularly perform repetitive motions including frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling of product or other materials.
- Frequently lift and/or move 10 lbs or more (more than 40 lbs requires a team lift).
- Potential exposure to bumblebees including possible (but rare) stings. Must be comfortable working around bees and not be allergic to bee stings.
