Forklift Operator. $16-$18/Hr

FLAG Solutions is hiring Forklift Operators for a manufacturer of furniture and equipment for educational institutions.

Duties:

Duties would revolve around safely and efficiently transporting materials, products, and equipment throughout the facility.

• Operating Forklifts: Safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move materials, products, and equipment to and from designated locations within the facility.
• Loading and Unloading: Loading and unloading materials and products from trucks, trailers, and storage areas using forklifts and pallet jacks. This may involve lifting heavy loads, stacking pallets, and securing loads for transport.
• Material Handling: Transporting materials, components, and finished products between production areas, storage areas, and shipping docks according to production schedules and work orders.
• Inventory Control: Assisting with inventory control by accurately tracking and recording materials movement, conducting cycle counts, and reporting discrepancies to supervisors.
• Quality Assurance: Ensuring that materials and products are handled and stored properly to prevent damage, loss, or contamination. This includes following established procedures for handling fragile or hazardous materials.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or property. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), obeying speed limits, and maintaining clear visibility while operating forklifts.
• Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance checks on forklifts and material handling equipment, such as inspecting tires, brakes, and fluid levels, and reporting any defects or malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborating with warehouse staff, production operators, and supervisors to coordinate material movements, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient workflow throughout the facility.
• Housekeeping: Keeping work areas clean and organized, including removing debris, pallets, and other obstructions from aisles and storage areas to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
