Job Summary:
The Forklift operator is responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage locations. They do this by using a forklift to unload deliveries from trucks and stack boxes for storage purposes throughout a warehouse and other industrial property.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading goods and materials from trucks and other vehicles and stacking them in their designated places
- Locating and moving product stocks to crates or pallets for shipment storage
- Steering forklifts safely in busy or crowded environments
- Identifying damages and reporting discrepancies for goods deliveries
- Inspecting and maintaining machinery to reduce downtime and facilitate longevity.
- Maintaining inventories and updating records and activity logs
- Comply with company safety policies, and legal guidelines
- Adhering to standard operating procedures to operate forklifts and maintain a safe working environment.
- Verify labels and counts for accuracy.
- Prepare skids to ship by shrink wrapping and placing in staging area.
- Keeping shipping area clean and organized
- Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

- Climb off and on forklift repeatedly 8+ hours.
- Wrap skids of parts multiple times per shift using wrapping machine
- Ability to read, write and comprehend basic math skills.
- Focus on safety, adherence to safety policies and continuous attention to housekeeping for the work area and the plant.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting frequently during their shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear.
