AITC provides expert support in Information Systems Design, Cyber Security, Strategic Planning, Program and Project Management, Security Risk Assessment, and Logistics for Federal, State and Local Governments and public sector markets.
AITC is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company and has been rated at level 3 for CMMI for Services. All employees are required to be aware of our Quality Policy and must adhere to AITC's established ISO and CMMI policies, standards, and procedures.
Position Overview
The Forensic Analyst Consultant is responsible for executing forensic analysis activities, conducting computer forensic investigations, data recovery and electronic discovery. Has a solid foundation of experience and technical knowledge, and strong communication skills to work with a senior Forensic Analyst, project manager and management staff, as well as lawyers and corporate clients.
The Forensic Analyst Consultant is an expert in the realm of digital investigations, wielding tools and methodologies designed to analyze electronic systems and extract vital evidence. Specializing in deep-dive forensic analysis, this consultant employs tools like EnCase, FTK, and Autopsy to access and evaluate data structures on hard drives, mobile devices, and cloud storage, even if the data is encrypted or deleted. Their expertise covers a vast spectrum of file systems, from NTFS to FAT32, and ext3/ext4, enabling them to traverse and interpret a myriad of storage formats. The consultant's research into computer forensic investigations often involves tasks like timestamp analysis, artifact retrieval, and RAM capture, crucial components in piecing together a digital timeline of events. This deep technical foundation allows them to crack encrypted files, recover intentionally deleted data, and pinpoint suspicious activities within logs or system artifacts. Beyond the raw data analysis, the Forensic Analyst Consultant leverages platforms like Relativity or Nuix for electronic discovery, sifting through vast quantities of data to identify legally relevant items. While deeply technical, this role also demands clear and concise communication. It's one thing to uncover evidence, but another to explain its significance, especially when dialoguing with legal teams or non-technical stakeholders. As such, the consultant is adept at creating detailed yet understandable reports, visualizing data findings, and, when called upon, standing as an expert witness in courtrooms, elucidating on the nuances of their digital discoveries. In essence, the Forensic Analyst Consultant doesn't just mine the digital realm for insights but ensures these insights are comprehensible, actionable, and legally robust.
