Drive Footwear product development from brief to Confirm for Production (Buy ready). In this role you are responsible for building and supporting overall footwear cross-functional teams with the best in class of fit & comfort, performance, and create a world class footwear. Focus on the development through footwear best practices/standards, and find technical solutions, build at cost, project management, UA's sustainability strategy, and inherence to product integrity via consumer satisfaction and UA's Footwear requirements.
- Drives and checks detailed spec packages
- Drives costing to achieve financial targets by focusing on product F.O.B and Gross Margin.
- Drives the development of prototype product with the Asia development team
- Effectively communicates with Asia development team, factory personnel, marketing, design, costing, and product testing
- Hit all key dates as outlined on the seasonal calendar and communicate any exceptions to marketing, design, planning, sourcing as well as our L.O. team members
- Prepare detailed tech packages in preparation of LR1, LR2, SMS and CFM sample stages. Tech packs to include Bill of materials, shell patterns, upper details, and when required bottom designs with assistance & learning from more Senior Developer (ie renderings, 2D and 3D) as well as construction details. Collaborate with Design to ensure artwork accuracy
- Ensure that all projects have the necessary development information entered into Centric including but not limited to: last, tool codes, duty, complexity score, etc
- Work closely with material and component suppliers as well as Tier 2 and 3 suppliers regarding product solutions and requirements
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate project details to UA personnel across HQ, LO personnel or a factory member, if direct to factory development process is in place
- Provide strong support to team ensuring target margins are being hit throughout the process
- Effectively communicate with overseas and HQ teams to manage project from initial sampling to confirmation
Knowledge of footwear construction, basic material construction and properties, upper and bottom treatments/applications, mold making and costing.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (in Footwear/Textile Design, Technology, Merchandising, Engineering, Industrial/ Mechanical/or Chemical Engineering or a related field preferred)
2-3 years of experience
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Portland office.
- Return to Work Designation: 3 days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
- Travel: 5% of the year
- Program Experience: Microsoft Suite, Adobe Illustrator, or 3D viewer, and Centric
- Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount
$71,568.00 - $98,406.00 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
