Who we are looking for
Do you have a passion for sports, footwear, and delivering performance product which will be worn by elite athletes on a nightly basis? If yes, we are looking for a Footwear Product Developer Professional 2. You will be an integral part of our Footwear Product Team to help drive product excellence! As our Footwear Product Developer Professional 2 in Athlete Promo Footwear, you will assist in driving project and process direction within the project team. You will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the team, the consumer, and Nike's Athletes. The candidate needs to be a quick learner, team driven, passionate, detail oriented, exhibit leadership skills, and demonstrate a positive demeanor.
What you will work on
You will lead, guide and follow through on making decisions that will lead to timely product confirmation and sample delivery. You will execute product creation according to critical dates and performance/profitability goals. You will work with your multi-functional teammates to ensure manufacturability of product concepts. You will develop and utilize footwear knowledge to drive results and appropriately achieve project designs. You will apply fundamental understanding of multiple sports and standard methodologies to identify product and testing requirements and assure product performance through physical and field-testing (fit). You will recommend and specify material, component and construction options to meet key features and product performance goals. In addition, you will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are completed on time, can be commercialized, manufactured, while meeting design intent performance, costing and sustainability goals!
Who you will work with
As a member of the Athlete Promo Footwear team, this you will work with key multi-functional team partners like: Product Design, Product Management, Sports Marketing, Operations, etc. You will report to the Director of Product Development for the Athlete Promotional Footwear. You will need to navigate and use the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model match Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You will also be a key point of contact for our manufacturing partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2 additional years' meaningful work experience may be substituted with combination of education and proven experience
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a product creation relevant role or two years of additional proven experience
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
  • Strong team first mentality that instills trust to deliver product excellence
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience in project management
  • Creative problem-solving skills from concepts to application.
  • Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle
  • Demonstrates base level understanding of Consumer Product or Hardgoods
  • The ability to read technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D digital files is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams with competing priorities to deliver on tight timelines
  • Knowledge of footwear pattern engineering, tooling or manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
