YOUR ROLE AS A FOOD SERVICES COOK

As our Food Services Cook, you ensure that the meals we serve our senior living residents are not only healthy but also delicious. You work closely with our Executive Chef to plan and prepare meals, following standardized recipes. You also use your creativity and culinary skills to make substitutions when necessary and cater to any special dietary needs.

Food quality is key, so you monitor taste, smell, appearance, and temperature during preparation. Safety and loss prevention are also super important. Lastly, you document and maintain menus and recipes. This is the kind of work that makes you excited, and you love your culinary role in our senior living kitchen!

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS FOOD SERVICES COOK JOB

• Willingness to work with the elderly
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in order to follow standardized recipes and other written instructions
• One year or more of experience as a cook performing preparation of a full line of menu items including therapeutic diets
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• A current food handler's permit
• Ability to handle food in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards
• Willingness to comply with all government regulatory procedures regarding food production
