- Pick up food for meals. Prepare and/or serve breakfast, dish up and serve lunch and snack. Return food containers to the Cafeteria or school (if applicable).
- Prepare all serving materials in advance for meal/snacks. Assist children or center staff in setting tables for meal/snack time. This task may be completed by Classroom Aides or Associates in some classrooms.
- Cleaning and maintenance of the classroom dining area after meals.
- Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the food preparation areas.
- Assist in meeting each child’s nutritional needs, by implementing the Child and Adult food program requirements. Paperwork to include Daily Meal Participation Sheets, Food Production sheets, menus, and monthly nutritional information to parents.
- Assist teaching staff with approved food experiences.
- Purchase groceries and supplies for meals (as needed), food experiences, and other supplies in the center. Receipts from these purchases will be submitted at the end of each week with a grocery voucher attached.
- Assist teaching staff in daily activities as requested.
- Assist with free choice, small or large group in the classroom, large motor/outdoor time, and nap time, as time allows.
- Attend weekly classroom staff meetings (if applicable).
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
This is a fast-paced job involving preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snack for preschool age children as well as purchasing and ordering food. Rewarding work environment. Approximately 32-40 hours per week. Monday-Friday. No nights or weekends
