Job Description
The Food Safety Specialist III is a key member of the Argo facility's quality team. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with ACH Food Company's corporate policies, GFSI standards, and all applicable regulatory agency requirements for the products produced at the facility. The Food Safety Specialist III will assist in driving the Food Safety and quality culture forward through communication across all levels of the organization and engaging site personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure compliance to Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory programs.
Develop and facilitate required employee Food Safety training for all site personnel.
Complete required internal assessments, i.e. PRP inspections, annual internal GFSI, etc.
Develop CAPAs, verify adequacy and efficacy of the implemented CAPAs.
Lead the preparation for internal, 2nd and 3rd party audits; ensure all programs are updated and available for review.
Complete required verification and validation of FSQR systems.
Lead, develop, implement, review, and maintenance of Food Safety and Quality Programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory agency, Company, and GFSI standards.
Communicate essential information as related to Food Safety and Quality to all employees including management and line operations.
Technical resource for operations, engineering, and maintenance for guidance in Food Safety and Quality. I.e., weight control, foreign material programs, incident investigation, projects, new construction, equipment, etc.
Manage the sanitation program to ensure production areas are suitable to produce food grade product. Ownership of the MSS and all activities surrounding the cleaning effectiveness.
Lead the location Environmental Monitoring Program for all product lines. Ensure compliance with the written program, initiate appropriate CAPAs, and communicate effectively across the Company.
Accountable for talent management of direct report(s). Lead talent development activities, assigning and directing responsibilities, performance reviews, talent recruiting and hiring, addressing complaints, resolving problems and compliance with the organization's policies and applicable law, etc.
Work closely with operations to identify and mitigate Food Safety and quality risks.
Backfill QC Manager and Product Line Specialists positions, support other duties and projects with a flexible schedule, as needed.
Competencies
Planning & Prioritization: Effectively organizes and plans work according to organizational needs and priorities, addresses roadblocks, and develops strategies to ensure high performance.
Accountability: Working knowledge of GFSI standards, SQF preferred. Auditing experience preferred. Knowledgeable of US and International Regulations including FDA, USDA, and CFIA.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
PCQI Certified for Human Food
HACCP Certified
Six-Sigma green or black belt preferred.
Lean Manufacturing experience
GFSI Experience, SQF preferred.
Additional Requirements
Must have the ability to sit, walk, bend, climb, and lift for extended periods of times daily.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and able to perform in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
