Our Food Safety and Quality technician will be responsible for overseeing a variety of activities associated with our bakery production and packaging process to ensure we maintain a high level of Food Safety and product quality for our customers.
These activities may include:
- Performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems then documenting, and calculating results accurately
- identifying potential issues in all phases of operations
- Taking corrective action
- Calibration accuracy checks
- Perform pre-operational inspection and verification (ATP) prior to the start of shifts or after cleaning and sanitation.
- Collect samples from operating lines for finished product testing.
- Provide administrative assistance to the FSQA Manager (document control, project management)
- Support Food Safety and Quality improvement projects.
- Assist in root cause analyses for the customer and consumer inquiries, as well as out of specification product.
- Perform and assist in internal shift audit activities of bakery processes.
- Provide reports on Food Safety and Quality data.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes, improve Food Safety and Quality metrics.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High School degree required.
- AA/BS degree, in Food Science or related major preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of Food Safety & quality experience in a production facility, preferably in a food processing plant
- 5 years' experience in a food/beverage production, preferred.
- HAACP, GFSI, Food Defense, etc certification preferred.
- Ability to work with and/or around: moving conveyors, various automated equipment, lift trucks, manual equipment, allergens including soy and nut products and airborne powders.
- Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitasking.
- Ability to stand, walk, and traverse various material and elevations continuously during an 8-hour day.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with a variety of temperatures (hot, warm, cold) with various odors.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Ability to work flexible shifts.
