JOB SUMMARY
Administer of Food Safety and health and safety programs at facilities, provide guidance on regulatory issues and requirements and provide long term support throughout the local organization to ensure programs, processes and systems of the RM department meet the requirements of all customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct and maintain Food Safety and EHS prerequisite programs.
- Provide onsite support with Food Safety, EHS and Regulatory Audits with guidance and direction from the North America Food Safety Manager.
- Collect documentation for department metrics, visually represent metrics in presentations.
- Support with employee onboarding training programs.
- Communicate potential Food Safety and EHS issues and concerns to appropriate on-site managers and Corporate Risk Management Team.
- Verify facility is within Food Safety standards by document review and visual inspections.
- Conduct GEMBA walks to review behaviors as it relates to Food Safety and EHS.
- Assist in supporting Employee Health and Safety and Food Safety efforts utilizing investigation tools such as, but not limited to, corrective actions, internal audits, observations, trainings, root cause risk assessments, peer reviews, etc.
- Provide support with employee related incidents and accidents, with guidance and direction from the on-site EHS Supervisor and Corporate Risk Management Team.
- Look for opportunities for continuous improvement, work with managers to adjust practices/programs for improvement and promote good manufacturing practices.
- Assist and support Corporate and local Food Safety, Health and Safety and Sanitation initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Video Conferencing and Email.
- Excellent communication and verbal skills.
- Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to analyze data timely, efficiently, effectively, and multi-task projects/assignments.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
- Ability to deal with changing objectives, deadlines, and priorities beyond one’s control as needed.
- Ability to remain calm and unemotional in stressful situations.
- Ability to lift or move 25 to 50 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, safely work near moving mechanical parts and equipment and temperatures between 32 and 50 degrees.
- Ability and willingness to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch, smell, etc. as needed to perform essential tasks.
- Ability to communicate, both oral and written, in English and Spanish.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standing, bending, kneeling and crouching for prolonged periods of time.
- Stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Work in cold conditions that range in temperatures from 32°F to 50°F as well as hot conditions.
- Make decisions in a high-stress environment.
- Work with and around conveyors, moving equipment and operate heavy machinery.
- Work at heights
- Able to lift 25 to 48 pounds to a minimum height of 36 inches.
