Job Description:We are currently seeking a Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic team for a 13-week contract position. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in speech therapy, with a passion for working with individuals in a long-term care setting. The SLP will be responsible for providing comprehensive speech therapy services to our residents, assessing their needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing disorders.
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each resident.
Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions to address communication and swallowing challenges.
Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
Educate residents, family members, and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing function.
Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Valid license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Texas (Compact license accepted).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in speech therapy, preferably in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
BLS
COVID Vaccination or exemption
Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic techniques for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
