In 2023, we rescued 8 million pounds of food alone.
Your day-to-day will consist of safely operating a standard 26 straight, non-CDL box truck to pick up, transport, and deliver food products from in-town and state-wide partner sites (grocery stores, restaurants, farmers, etc.) to/from designated locations, load and unload the trailer at most stops, and assist with general warehouse duties as assigned. But most importantly, you will get to be an ambassador for our organization and help build and maintain donor relationships, agency partnerships, and community support!ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties or responsibilities associated with the job. Other job-related duties may be assigned.* Safely operate a 26 straight box truck in order to pick up, transport, and deliver food throughout the state of Colorado in a timely manner based on route schedules and scheduled pick-ups.* Inspect product donations to ensure that Food Safety and Defense standards are met and maintain a current Food Safety certification provided by the organization.* Adhere to Food Safety standards by maintaining and logging food temperatures, properly handling prepared and/or perishable foods, and ensuring donors are doing the same.* Understand and follow all Feeding America donation guidelines.* Act in a professional manner at all times, maintaining positive working relationships with donors, coworkers, and the public.* Support special events, as needed, which may be held during evening and/or weekend times.* Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) and State mandated rules to include, but not limited to, compliance with maintaining current licensing, certifications, medical cards, clean driving record, driving logs, and vehicle inspection & maintenance logs.* Maintain our vehicles in a clean and working condition by reporting all malfunctions and supporting the transportation manager in transporting vehicles to/from the repair shop.* Complete daily documentation to report the accurate amount of food acquisitioned and enter receipts into our electronic database (CERES).* Effectively communicate with the transportation team and Manager about any changes, delays, or other problems with the route on a regular and frequent basis with supporting documentation as applicable.* Assist with general warehouse duties to include, but are not limited to, loading, unloading, receiving, and inventory.* Adhere to FBLC Safety standards and OSHA regulations to ensure workplace safety.
When operating company equipment or vehicles adhere to safety standards and ensure others are as well.* Operate a forklift in a warehouse and trailer-loading environment.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Forklift operating experience is preferred.Pre-employment screening requirements: Ability to pass a drug test, pass a WorkSTEPS job-specific test, must be 21 years or older, possess a valid Colorado drivers license with a good driving record as verified with an MVR check, and possess a current forklift certification or be able to obtain certification at the expense of the organization.Language Skills and Ability: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at a professional level with preference of bi-lingual in Spanish.Computer Skills: Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to demonstrate strong Excel knowledge. Experience with Inventory Management and Project Management systems is preferred.
