BOH Ice Cream Maker

Position Summary:
Handel's Ice Cream is made at each individual store. An Ice Cream maker is in charge of recommending what needs to be made each day and making enough to keep store stocked and ready.. Ice cream is made in two machines at each store. Ice cream maker will be required to learn how to make 100-125 different flavors to the very highest Handel's standards, They are also responsible to ensure the Ice Cream is being stored and rotated properly. This position will also need to know what happens in FOH to be knowledgeable of the needs and quality of Ice Cream to be made. Follow recipes and training without deviation, Ordering bi-weekly to supply store from supplier.
Essential Job Functions:
Determine the demand of Ice Cream necessary to be made to keep store well stocked of the world's best Ice Cream to be served up front.
Must be able to be trained in proper food handling techniques. Obtain a food handlers card within 7 days of being hired. Understand and read English to learn the ingredients in manual.
Following proper standard operating procedures, ongoing cleaning and organization through the shift. Following FIFO and other health standards set in place by the health department.
Wipe down work space with the proper sanitation procedures throughout the day
Tidiness and cleanliness in the walk in- report any issues to the manager
Keep inventory stocked- Vats cleaned daily and product kept in clean condition, ripple pitchers stocked and cleaned, all items must be labeled and dated.
Learn the flavor rotation, par for Ice Cream and how to properly pick what Ice Creams need to be made
Sweeping and Mopping the Station - keeping a clean environment through the shift
Other Responsibilities:
All other duties as assigned by Handel's Manager.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Previous experience in customer service and food service preferred.
Must be friendly, outgoing, able to work with a team and communicate with the general public.
Supervision:
Reports to the store manager and leads.
Not a supervisory role.
