$15.00/hr minimum - $18.75/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)
Responsible for preparing meals to order, catering and batch cooking for patients, visitors and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
- Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
- Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
- Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
- Food Handler I: Prepares kitchen and equipment prior to meal preparation.
- Food Handler I: Set-up and prepare ingredients such as chopping vegetables, meat preparation, etc.
- Food Handler I: Ensure assembly and cooking areas are stocked prior to each meal preparation period.
- Food Handler I: Cook food to order for patients through Custom Cuisine, ensuring appearance, quality, quantity, and presentation meets standards.
- Food Handler I: Ensures appearance, temperature and quality of food are appropriate for delivery.
- Food Handler I: Tests and records temperatures and other quality measures appropriately.
- Food Handler I: Ensures work area is keep clean, neat, and sanitary at all times.
- Food Handler I: Ensures all food service sanitation guidelines are met at all times.
- Food Handler II: Maintains adequate stocking of kitchen with appropriate ingredients.
- Food Handler II: Verbalizes specific content and rationale for various therapeutic diets.
- Food Handler II: Measures, mixes and prepares ingredients according to recipes and count/production sheets using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Food Handler II: Follows IDPH and facility sanitation guidelines.
- Food Handler II: Maintains a high quality patient and cafeteria food service operation.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food Service Sanitation Certification
- Technical Experience: 1 year
