Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry Coordinator
RESPONSIBLE TO: Regional Food Bank Director

RESPONSIBLE FOR: The Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is responsible for coordinating YCAP Regional Food BanksMobile Food pantries, including picking up and distributing donated food, volunteer recruitment and management, and setting up, cleaning, promoting Mobile Food sites in compliance with all food safety standards. This position will also be responsible for driving delivery trucks and operate heavy equipment (electric pallet jack), loading and unloading pallets of food, and hand stack cases of food items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Create a positive team atmosphere providing quality customer service to partner agencies, donors, clients, staff, volunteers, partners and general public through active listening, positive problem solving, and timely responses.

2. Set up mobile pantry sites. Unload and set up produce to be distributed. Ensure proper signage is displayed and rules are followed.

3. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with Mobile Food sites in designated locations within Yamhill
County.

4. Work with YCAP Food Bank Program & Logistics Coordinator to determine food to be distributed.
5. Load and unload Food Bank truck with pallets of food.
6. Drive Food Bank delivery truck, operate electric pallet jack and hand stack cases of food items.
7. Communicate regularly with local farms and gleaning groups to collect produce for distribution to Food Bank

Agency Partners and YCAP mobile pantries.
8. Weigh and keep records of product collected for redistribution.
9. Maintain accurate food recovery program and donated food records to ensure that product is accounted for and properly recorded at all times.
10. Ensure that procedures and best practices for handling food products established by YCAP Food Bank, Feeding America and Oregon Food Bank are understood and followed.
11. Assist in educating and promoting YCAP programs and Food Bank services to our partners, potential donors and the general public.
12. Adhere to all YCAP policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety protocols, food handling practices, and equipment operation procedures.
13. Maintain organization/cleanliness of warehouse/mezzanine adhering to OSHA & Oregon Food Bank safety standards. This includes but not limited to: pest abatement, cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping.
14. Maintain equipment to include but not limited to; forklift, pallet jacks, cooler, freezer, with routine inspections, checklists and/or logs.
15. Maintain all files and required documentation to meet monitoring and program standards.
16. Ensure timely reporting, accurate data input, and compliance with grant standards. Assist with data for monitoring and reporting.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of computers and software programs
Skill in verbal and written communications, problem solving, team work & multi-tasking
Ability to work independently on multiple projects in a timely fashion
Ability to work as a team player within a very cohesive team
Ability to work professionally with diverse people, organizations and situations
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
Ability to obtain/maintain forklift & electric pallet jack certification
Ability to obtain an Oregon Food Handler’s certificate and/or become ServSafe Qualified
Ability to work flexible schedule, occasional weekends and attend out of town workshops and meetings

Ability to drive agency vehicles and pass background, drug screen & insurance requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to sit, stand, kneel, walk or bend for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to reach with arms, hands; climb stairs or balance; stoop, kneel or work from a ladder. Must frequently lift and/or remove up to 50 pounds, occasionally move up to 100 pounds with a hand truck and push or pull pallets over one ton with a pallet jack. Employee will be going in and out of cooler and/or freezer with extreme variations in temperature. Certain work will require extended working time within the freezer at sub-zero temperatures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.85 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
