Florida Remote In-House Legal Assistant Must Live In Fl

QEO Insurance Group is seeking a Legal Assistant to assist one senior attorney. All cases involve the defense of personal injury cases and the candidate for this job must already be proficient in scheduling hearings, submitting documents to various courts in Florida and scheduling mediations and depositions. 7+ years of insurance defense work is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook as well as the more basic rules of Florida Civil Procedure is required including how to calendar responses to complaints, various motions and discovery deadlines. This is a completely remote position and all employees of the QEO In-House Counsel team must be capable of working independently and staying organized. No billing is required and employees do not clock in or out. 100% of each direct employee's individual health insurance is paid. Unlimited training will be provided to utilize QEO's case management system. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The candidate can reside anywhere in Florida and will work with one attorney and one paralegal and must also:

- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Perform data entry tasks to update and manage case information
- Utilize document management systems to store and retrieve files
- Assist with proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars
- Prepare legal correspondence and basic legal documents
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant
- Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and proofreading
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional demeanor
- Familiarity with contracts and legal terminology is preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
