Floral Designer

Essential Job Functions:

• Design and create floral arrangements. Utilize your artistic skills and knowledge of floral design to create stunning arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, and more.
• Select appropriate flowers, foliage, and decorative elements to compose visually appealing and harmonious designs.
• Meet with clients to understand their floral needs, preferences, and event themes. Provide expert advice and guidance on flower choices, color schemes, and design options. Ensure that the final floral arrangements align with the client's vision and exceed their expectations.
• Receive and inspect floral shipments to ensure freshness and quality. Process and prepare flowers by removing thorns, leaves, and excess foliage. Ensure proper hydration and storage of flowers to maintain their freshness and longevity.
• Monitor floral inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and maintain an organized and well-stocked workspace. Keep track of popular flower varieties and adjust inventory accordingly to meet customer demands.
• Stay updated with the latest floral design trends, styles, and techniques. Research new flower varieties and explore innovative ways to incorporate them into your designs. Continuously expand your knowledge and skills in floral design to offer unique and cutting-edge arrangements to our clients.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and properly sanitized. Ensure that floral tools and equipment are well-maintained and in good working condition. Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Interact with clients in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner. Listen attentively to their needs, offer expert advice, and address any concerns or queries promptly. Strive to exceed customer expectations and ensure a positive and memorable experience.

Essential Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Floral Designer in a professional setting.
• In-depth knowledge of floral design principles, flower varieties, and care techniques.
• Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail and color coordination.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in using floral tools and equipment, including knives, wire cutters, and floral foam.
• Knowledge of plant care, including watering, trimming, and plant maintenance.
• Familiarity with different floral design styles, such as traditional, modern, rustic, and tropical.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to last-minute changes or client requests.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to maintain good relationships with employees, supervisors, and clients
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Duties require long periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, bending
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy floral arrangements or containers.
• Proficient manual dexterity for handling delicate flowers, wires, and design elements.
• Tolerance to work in a cooler environment with varying temperatures.
• Awareness of personal allergies or sensitivities related to flowers, pollen, or foliage.
