Floral Design Manager

We are seeking a creative and experienced Floral Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for flowers and design, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

R. Jack Balthazar is a full-service event design+ build firm primarily working in support of independent event producers and agencies. With our skilled in-house carpentry, fabrication and floral teams, R. Jack Balthazar is able to envision, design, produce, and install all matter of inspired decor and execute complete space transformations for 200+ events annually across the US, and internationally.

Responsibilities

· Set up and takedown of equipment / decor at event sites

· Fresh flower processing, cleaning / prepping vessels, prepping / packing florals and décor for transport

· Prepare and Design arrangements utilizing new and existing floral recipes

· On-site Floral Design and large installations

· Scout freelance Floral Designers – increase contacts + schedule for event production

· Extract floral and decor budget / Create load list / Submit floral POs, manage floral vendors and build new relationships at flower mart

· Design floral and décor slides in design decks – create load list for support staff to pull & prep

· Manage floral vases used for events - track everything is returned

· Lead a team onsite and in warehouse

· Manage receiving process – new décor orders and floral deliveries

· Maintain décor department inventory by accounting for lost / damaged items and replenishing stocked supply needs

· Assist with floral studio and décor area upkeep; sweep, take out trash, water plants

· Expense Reporting

· Event Wrap Up’s – reporting final floral costs, etc.

· Drive company vehicles safely to perform deliveries and pickups – ability to drive 14’ and 26’ trucks is a plus!

Skills

· Candidates should expect a variable schedule based on pre-production deliverables and event schedules – which will include weekends, nights, and holidays

· Expert knowledge of fresh flowers and plants – well versed in all areas of Floral Design

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent communication and organizational skills and attention to detail

· Must have creative design ability, flair for color, knowledge of trends and styles

· Candidate thrives in a fast paced environment

· Can be part of a collaborative team

· Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations is critical

Qualifications

· Knowledge in the following programs is a plus!: Adobe Creative Suites, Google Slides, Microsoft Office Suite

· 3-5 years of direct floral buying

· Relevant Industry Experience Required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
