Floral Assistant / Garden Center Support At Farmington Gardens & Floral

Job Overview:
We are seeking positive, energetic, self-motivated individual to assist in all aspects of our busy floral department. Responsibilities include flower prep, processing, deliveries, assistance in wedding & event installations, customer service, support with seasonal flower farm. Must have valid Driver’s license, ability to lift 40 lbs. Follows direction, self-starter, strong customer service skills. able to work in all areas of the Garden center (indoor & outdoor) as needed. Available weekends and peak Holidays. 3 years floral experience preferred.

Duties:
- Perform various gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, watering, and fertilizing
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of garden areas
- Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases
- Assist with landscape design and installation projects
- Operate gardening equipment and tools safely
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering gardening advice

Experience:
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is preferred
- Knowledge of different plant species and their care requirements
- Familiarity with landscape design principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent communication skills in English

Skills:
- Customer service: Ability to provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers
- Floral design: Knowledge of arranging flowers and creating floral displays
- Retail math: Basic understanding of calculations related to sales, discounts, and pricing
- Cash handling: Experience in handling cash transactions accurately
- Landscape maintenance: Proficiency in maintaining gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces
- Cash register: Ability to operate a cash register or point-of-sale system
- E-commerce: Familiarity with online sales platforms for plant-related products
- Sales: Ability to promote products and sell gardening supplies or plants
