The duties of this job include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing the floor surfaces of commercial buildings. You may also help clean or extract and install carpets, so carpet installation experience is a plus. In some cases, you may have to move furniture for floor access or be asked to perform other light cleaning tasks.
Floor Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop floors
- Assist with striping, buffing, and waxing surfaces
- Clean or shampoo carpets
- Perform light window and wall cleaning duties
- Maintain equipment and supplies

- Apply filler compound and coats of finish to floors to seal wood
- Clean and disinfect sinks, urinals, toilets, counters, tables, etc.
- Restock all paper supplies, wipe down toilets, urinals, walls and windows.
- Used hand and power tools such as floor polishers, vacuum cleaners, mops, floor strippers.
