Job description

The primary purpose of this position: Serves as Flight Supervisor for a specific functional program area in the daily execution of training operations. Responsible for daily supervision of instructor personnel providing academic instruction, role-play laboratories and practicums. Individual serves as lead instructor during resident training classes and as Team Chief on mobile training teams (MTT).Qualifications: This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge and understanding of operational survival, evasion, resistance and escape (SERE) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TIP); knowledge of customer's unit personnel, capabilities, and TTP in relation to course content and principles of instruction to aid development of course curriculum and presentation; knowledge of personnel recovery (PR) or joint TTP that support the tasks to locate, communicate, support, recover, and reintegrate and knowledge of subject matter with the ability to tailor course or program elements to fit the training participants needs. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of operational survival, evasion, resistance and escape (SERE) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP).
  2. Knowledge of customer's unit personnel, capabilities, and TTP in relation to course content and principles of instruction to aid development of course curriculum and presentation methodology,
  3. Knowledge of personnel recovery (PR) or joint TTP that support the tasks to locate, communicate, support, recover, and reintegrate.
  4. Knowledge of national-level capabilities in support of PR operations.
  5. Knowledge of PR functional roles, including functions of the Joint Chief of Staff, theater, combatant command, US Special Operations Command, and the interagency community.
  6. Ability to analyze and synthesize complex Code of Conduct related research, training and operational outcomes into finished products on behalf of the executive agent.
  7. Knowledge of subject matter with the ability to tailor course or program elements to fit the training participants needs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT.
  • All candidates must pass a psychological evaluation conducted by a certified SERE Psychologist prior to selection. Documentation validating a previous evaluation within one year of date of hire will be accepted. Requirement may be waived if the applicant is an active Code of Conduct Instructor at a DoD certified school.
  • All candidates will be subject to a physical to determine they meet the physical requirements for the position. Position requires lifting up to 70 pounds, extended standing on hard surfaces, tolerance of heat and cold temperature and uneven walking surfaces during training activities. Vision and hearing correctable to normal range is acceptable.
  • During contingencies or wartime, the incumbent may be expected to perform duties and responsibilities, possibly including but not limited to: exercises of wartime and/or contingency operations; deployment within CONUS or to overseas communities; reporting for or staying on duty when other employees are excused; working overtime or irregular duty hours; performing frequent and lengthy TDY; and other types of employment-related duties.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Education: This job does not have an education qualification requirement.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
