We are looking for a Flight Operations Specialist to join our team. The goal of a Flight Operations Specialist at Wisk is to ensure that our operational procedures are properly captured, documented, and trained in a manner that allows for the successful and timely launch of our US Airline. You will be part of the Wisk Airline team, reporting to the Flight Operations Manager, and will assist in ensuring that we receive operational certification for our airline with responsibility for creating and maintaining our required operating publications and establishing our training program.

    • The successful candidate has aviation and FAA regulatory experience and is a knowledgeable leader with hands-on experience developing content and implementing training systems and documentation. In this role, the candidate must be collaborative, proactive, forward thinking, self-motivated and possess the ability to inspire and lead through influence. This is an operational role where your past experiences and understanding of aviation regulations will help create, build and grow an entirely new aviation industry.
What you will do:
    • Flight Operations Centre: Assist in the development of the Flight Operations Centre procedures, ensuring smooth coordination of flight activities. Provide real-time support and guidance to flight crews during daily operations and emergencies.
    • Operational Evaluation Support: Assist in operational evaluations, including the implementation and monitoring of operational procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with regulatory authorities to identify changes to existing regulations to enable the introduction of autonomous aircraft Support activities in the field and during simulations.
    • Flight Manual Creation and Writing: Develop and maintain flight manuals, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Response Procedures (ERPs). Ensure flight manuals are up-to-date with the latest regulations and safety standards.
    • Training Requirement Definition: Define requirements for the initial qualification training of flight and ground personnel in coordination with the training department. Define requirements for the on-going training required for flight and ground personnel to maintain proficiency in coordination with the training department. Implement training programs to ensure compliance and proficiency.
    • Airline Operations: Manage day-to-day airline operations, including overseeing flight scheduling, crew assignments, and resource allocation. Monitor flight performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
    • Airline Turnaround: Streamline airline turnaround processes, including aircraft boarding, maintenance, and catering cleaning services. Optimize turnaround times to minimize aircraft downtime.
    • Ground Operations: Collaborate with the ground operations team to ensure efficient ground handling services. Implement safety measures and quality controls for ground operations.
    • Flight Dispatch: Oversee flight dispatch operations. Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of flights.
    • Flight Planning: Supervise the planning of scheduled Flight Operations including flight schedule optimization and weather analysis. Supervise the planning of contingency operations including energy planning and divert planning. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and energy optimisation strategies.
    • Undertake regular domestic and occasional international travel that requires overnight stays.
What you have done:
    • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aeronautical science, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Flight Operations management.
    • You have worked on various  Part 135 Organization (or larger) as well as been involved in manual writing, and training development. Experience in the development of Learning Management Systems is a bonus.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
    • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience with flight dispatch and planning software is a plus.
    • Willingness to work irregular hours and handle emergency situations as needed.
    • You have an applied knowledge of the development of training syllabus and manuals writing and or capturing Flight Operations procedures and turning those into procedures and compliant manuals.
Desired:
    • You are familiar with US FAA Part 135 operations as well as US Part 91, 61 and 43.
    • You are familiar with US FAA Part 145 and the role the MRO plays in supporting an Airline and you are familiar with the role of the OEM versus the Airline.
    • You are familiar with Learning management systems and the development of training syllabus to meet Part 135 and or Part 142 Organizations.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay:  $166,519 - $191,401  per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
