Position: Flight Operations and Readiness Formal Training Support
Location: Langley AFB, VA
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Summary:
TTC is looking for qualified candidates to support our customer at Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC), Directorate of Operations (A3), Flight Operations Division (A3T) to Analyze, develop, and evaluate detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range implementation of assigned Lead Major Command aircrew munitions program(s). Serves as the gatekeeper for the administration and processing of publications, guidance memorandums, configuration changes, directives, and notifications. Provide advisory services in all areas of Formal Training preparation within the ACC Flight Operations Division. Advise and assist A3 to develop, plan, organize, and recommend necessary policies, regulations, directives, programs, doctrine, and procedures for the establishment and maintenance of assigned major command programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all activities and duties of the A3T Formal Training Manager. Research, analyze, confirm, and process command Formal Training requests, actions, and information using appropriate information systems such as Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS) and Oracle Training Application (OTA).
  • Coordinate and accomplish Formal Training administrative tasks regarding PFT, Survival, Escape, Resistance, and Evasion (SERE), Advanced Instrument School, and RTMs.
  • Assist the administrator with A3TO’s SharePoint site and other web pages.
  • Resolve short- and long-term Formal Training issues as they pertain to the execution of CAF-wide Operations and training.
  • Refine existing work methods/techniques and develop new procedures that can furnish information, improve operations, weapon systems and related training devices, tactics, and strategies for higher level headquarters decisions.
  • Assist in the design of tests to discover and evaluate the operational implications of changes in force structure, instructional methods, and training resources.
  • Draft classified and unclassified briefing slides for A3, with coordination between members of ACC/A3's 10 Divisions and two Squadrons, with as little as 2-hours of preparation time. Briefing preparation will focus on content, operational focus, format, presentation, professionalism, and accuracy.
  • Coordinate training and Readiness issues with HAF, 22 ACC Wings, 3 NAFs, the USAF Warfare Center and various Field Operating Agencies under the NAF umbrellas.
  • Develop executive-level decision support materials for A3 and prepare position papers, staff summary packages, PowerPoint presentations, charts, bullet background papers, etc., to ensure the strategic vision of A3 is properly articulated to target audiences and into actionable tasks.
  • Assist with coordination and planning of A3T hosted conferences, reviews, boards, teleconferences, and meetings, to include staff briefing preparation, and assistance with event logistics (billeting, protocol liaison, facilities liaison, etc.).
  • Prepare and track branch taskings, consolidate required information, and schedule and adjust taskings based on manning, experience, training, and abilities.
  • Analyze taskings, procedures, practices and resources for the A3 directorate to be able to effectively and efficiently resolve operational challenges and issues to help ensure successful mission accomplishment.
  • Develop, modify, maintain, and/or eliminate validated combat aircrew training requirements via the RAP for Government consideration. Draft consolidated unit RAP and other periodic reporting into decision quality products for senior leader review, direction, and
    guidance.
  • Assist in creating or updating AF Instructions, including MWS-specific training and operational guidance.
  • Advise leadership on readiness issues which may affect USAF support to COCOMs.
  • Assist in the execution of CAF Readiness Reviews, CAF Formal Training Reviews, and training annexes.
  • Assist in defining Command, A3, and CAF positions and develop recommendations for issues affecting CAF operational training and Readiness.
  • Assist in the analysis of current policies, programs, and requirements as they apply to ACC and worldwide CAF Operations and help develop solutions that can make these forces more effective in their ability to support warfighting COCOMs.
  • Interact and work in conjunction with ACC senior staff, their processes, and responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of experience managing Air Force Formal Training or training quota programs
  • 1 year of HQ staff experience at the NAF level or higher
  • Secret clearance
