We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Safetymanager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Fleet Safety Policies and Procedures (update, develop, and modify as necessary).
- Manage Fleet Safety Program and Training, including the following:
- New Driver Qualification
- Safe Driver Compliance
- MVR Review
- In-vehicle Training (ride-a-longs)
- Manage Telematics and Dash Camera system (Samsara) and address:
- Harsh driving alerts.
- Severe Speeding incidents
- Manage Driver Safety Scorecards and Safe Driver Incentive Program
- Manage, fleet related, in-house Safety Meetings
- Manage, develop, and update presentations (power point).
- Conduct safety meetings.
- Manage Safety Meeting schedule.
- Perform Fleet Safety audits and inspections.
- Coordinate and follow-up with Fleet Manager and Supervisors to manage and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with Fleet Manager and Mechanics to complete required safety repairs.
- Manage Pre-Trip 360 Inspection process and compliance for the fleet.
- Manage DOT Compliance
- Investigating incidents/accidents/near-misses.
- Conduct post-incident/accident/near-miss review meetings.
- Conduct bi-monthly Safety & Risk Control Meetings with company ownership.
- Occasionally travel to attend Risk Control Seminars.
- Seek additional certifications and training as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to “coach” other employees and work with them to address issues and gain improvement.
- Must have passion for Fleet Safety.
- Must have a low risk-tolerance, must be liability-minded and must have an adequate understanding of risk management.
- Must be mechanically inclined and have a reasonable familiarity with vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and heavy-duty trucks.
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English (Spanish a plus).
- Must have adequate presentation skills and be able to communicate in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluent in communication tools and methods.
- Must be proficient in the use of MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Must also be capable of learning and applying company and site safety rules to the work being performed.
- Must be self-disciplined, trustworthy, and able to work productively with minimal supervision.
- Must have a good driving record with minimal infractions.
- Must have a background suitable for working in schools, hospitals, and other government facilities.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

Our benefit package includes:
- Annual salary $67,600-$78,000 based on skills and experience. Employees are paid weekly.
- Potential for year-end bonus.
- Retirement package that is based on company profitability and is extremely generous with a track record of contributing an amount equal to 15% of eligible employees' wages to individual employee owned and managed profit-sharing retirement accounts for almost 50 years. Employee contributions are not required but are encouraged.
