Clarke Vehicare is currently looking for a Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service!
This fleet consists of Light, Medium, & Heavy Duty Trucks, Beverage Trailers, Sales Vehicles, and MHE Equipment. Use of smartphone, laptop and tablet technology to record all repairs. What are the Duties?
Essential Duties:
- Repairs and maintains on-site customer fleet of vehicles
- Perform PMI's on all vehicles, Class 7 and 8 tractors, trailers and Automobiles and Special Event Trailer equipment.
- Perform all types of engine, brake, drive train, electrical, and A/C repairs
- Diagnose failures and disassemble, repair, & reassemble parts
- Respond to service calls
- Record all work orders in Electronic Fleet Maintenance System
- Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory compliance
- Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW
- Must be able to work independently
PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs. Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Related fleet repair experience with preventative maintenance on Class 7 and 8 vehicles is required
- Preferred Diesel Program Certificate from college or technical school Preferred
- Must have own tools
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Driver's License required
- Valid CDL A or B is a PLUS or able to obtain CDL
- ASE Certifications are a PLUS
