Capital Tower & Communications Inc. is looking for a Construction Fleet Maintenance Manager at their Company Headquarters located in Waverly Nebraska.

Job Description:

General Summary:

The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our maintenance and body shop operations. Responsibility includes managing drivers, ensuring the reliability of all company vehicles, trailers, equipment along with driver safety and legal operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibility for driver safety, FMCSA, OSHA, IFTA and DOT compliance.

Effectively coordinates and works with Managers to understand their vehicle and equipment needs.

Supervises, schedules, assigns and participates in the work of mechanics, and outside contractors engaged in the maintenance and repair of company vehicles and related equipment.

Establish maintenance schedules and priorities for all equipment. Maintain a fleet management system for all equipment.

Discusses work requirements with department contacts, makes and adjusts periodic work plans; makes daily work assignments; trains and instructs subordinates; inspects work in progress to ensure conformance with instructions and schedules.

Completes performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and approves leave requests and ensures adequate staffing.

Prepares work reports; maintains time and material records; responsible for ordering and completing requisitions for equipment, parts, and materials as needed.

Performs other work which is consistent with the essential functions of the job.


DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

Considerable knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, and techniques related to the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

Knowledge of construction, assembly, adjustment, and maintenance of a wide variety of light and heavy automotive, diesel and specialized equipment;

Know of the use of various types of shop tools, such as drills, presses, grinders and micrometers;

Understand the uses of Mig and Tig welding repairs or fabrications to complete project builds;

Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions for this field.

Ability effectively and efficiently use computers  

Ability to diagnose defects in light and heavy automotive, diesel and specialized equipment and to instruct subordinates in approved techniques for remedying them;

Ability to assign and supervise the work of others.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to respond to after-hours calls in the event of emergency. The Company does work outside of normal hours and in the event of an emergency or breakdown may require support outside normal hours.

Ability to communicate effectively and develop and maintain effective working relationships in a team atmosphere.

Ability to communicate effectively with other departments, vendors and contractor

Ability to effectively supervise staff, establish goals, and manage performance expectations and achievements.

Ability to maintain records and prepare required reports.

Skill in the operation and maintenance of equipment used in work.

General knowledge in Auto Body repair and restoration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or equivalent GED, supplemented by vocational courses in the automotive or heavy equipment field. Also, customer service-related experience in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance; including supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, abilities, and skills.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employee must possess and maintain of a valid Nebraska Driver’s License

Employee must be able to pass a DOT Physical, Drug test, Criminal and Driving Background Check.

Year-round work in climate controlled onsite shop.

Shift: M-F 8:00am – 5:00pm
