Responsible for all activities associated with running the Flat bed die cutters including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations
Accountability
The Flat Bed Die Cutter Helper with the operator and his team to help operate the Flat Bed Die Cutter in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. The position holder will follow all pertinent procedures processes as well as Group Health Safety standards and rules.
Primary Duties
- Set-up die cutters in accordance with proper setup techniques.
- Ensure all bolts on cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
- Inspect all dies before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.
- Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to loose liner, warp, correct size, and proper scoring.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Cross train on other machines.
- Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
- Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
- Adheres to production schedule.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Requirements
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Working with control display panels a plus.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to work unsupervised or in a team environment.
- Able to work on a computer.
- PREFERRED - Prior work in corrugated industry
- PREFERRED - 6 months in the Press or Finishing Department
