Mercy Multiplied exists to provide opportunities for all to experience God’s unconditional love, forgiveness, and life-transforming power. Mercy’s Residential counseling Program is voluntary, biblically-based, and helps young women ages 13–32 break free from life-controlling issues and situations, including anxiety, depression, abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, addictions, unplanned pregnancy, and sex trafficking. These residential services are offered free-of-charge. The Mercy Multiplied Center for Wellness and Counseling is Mercy’s free-of-charge Outpatient counseling Program for men and women aged 13 and older. Our Outreach Services train and resource men and women to effectively support and minister to those who are hurting and struggling through workshops, videos, podcasts, discipleship teaching, and other practical resources.

We have an immediate opening for a part-time Fitness Manager at our home located near Sacramento, California.
Hours: 24 hours per week
Compensation: $20 - $22/hr |
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-3:00pm or 9:00am-3:30pm
Overview: The Fitness Manager handles a variety of kitchen and wellness activities, including sourcing and purchasing healthy food options, maintaining the kitchen and ensuring compliance with health codes and licensing standards, creating individualized fitness programs for residents, and teaching and monitoring fitness classes.
To be successful in this position, one must have the following:
- B.A. in Sociology or Bachelors in Exercise Physiology preferred (preferably certified by ACSM or NSCA). Must have a high school diploma or pass a general educational development test (GED)
- Strong background in exercise physiology
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Coordinate with the Program Director & Director of Home Operations with the cooking and serving of meals for Community Relations events
- Help oversee food for all Community Relations events
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English; bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
- Must have a thorough understanding of, and dedication to, the vision of Mercy Multiplied, along with demonstrated Christian work ethics
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Teach fitness/recreational classes
- Create and assist in implementing individualized fitness programs
- Create opportunities within community for residents to expand fitness levels
- Monitor residents’ levels of fitness and wellness
- Stay abreast of current research on fitness and wellness; follow guidelines set by the State of California or local governing body; attain continual education in areas of fitness
- Assist with creating menus under the direction of our Registered Dietitian
- Inventory food supplies; make grocery lists; order food from selected vendors and grocers
- Purchase food and home supplies from local grocers and food suppliers on weekly basis and research sources of healthy food
- Utilize cookbooks and recipes, as needed; oversee meal preparation for lunch and dinner and check work details in the kitchen and dining room for all meals
- Coordinate with the Program Director and Director of Home Operations the cooking and serving of meals for Community Relations events and help oversee food for all Community Relations events
- Assist with household duties whenever needed
