Position Summary

Hawaiian Airlines is hiring First Officers to join our Flight Crew.

We offer opportunities to fly a variety of aircraft in several stage lengths, with each aircraft providing distinct schedules and lifestyles. Our B717s hop throughout the Hawaiian Islands allowing you to stay closer to home, while our A321neo’s fly mid-range flights between Hawaii and the West Coast and South Pacific. Our widebody A330-200’s and B787-9 Dreamliners (beginning early 2024!) operate longer domestic and international flights with longer layovers. Finally, our new cargo partnership with Amazon will allow you to be based on the US mainland and operate A330-300 freighters for Prime Air.

First Officer Responsibilities

Pilots operate regularly scheduled service within the United States and international destinations for the transport of passengers and cargo. Requires Federal Air Transport rating and certification in specific aircraft type used.

Job Requirements

  • FAA ATP certified, Airplane Multiengine Land with English proficient endorsement required
  • Valid First Class Medical Certificate
  • Valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
  • Minimum 1,500 total flight hours
  • Minimum 1,000 fixed wing hours
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Valid Passport with at least six months validity remaining at time of employment
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; such as an H-1B visa, by Hawaiian Airlines
  • Ability to travel immediately and repeatedly to any location, domestic or international, where Hawaiian Airlines flies
  • Must be able to obtain a Flight Crew Visa to all of Hawaiian Airlines’ destinations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use sound judgment in decision making
  • Able to work effectively within diverse teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure

Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $81.00 per hour. We’re pleased to offer a $10,000 sign on bonus for pilots joining our Ohana.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1000 hours turbine as PIC (as defined by FAR Part 1)
  • Turbojet/turbo prop experience in complex flying environments.
  • College degree
  • DOT regulations, 14 CFR part 120 identifies this position as performing safety sensitive functions. Individuals will be required to undergo pre-employment testing in accordance with Federal Regulations to determine the presence of marijuana, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP), and amphetamines, or a metabolite of those drugs in their system. A negative test result is required as a condition of employment.

*** In addition to routine employment eligibility verification, U.S.-based airlines must gather information to validate country of citizenship and country of birth. Upon hire, you must provide documentation proving your current country of citizenship and birthplace.
