Firewall Engineer

Atlas Technologies, a rapidly expanding company supporting the US Military and other Government entities, is seeking a passionate, flexible, highly motivated team player to join our group of Information Technology professionals. We are seeking a Firewall Engineer with experience supporting in-service systems for a worldwide network. Firewall Engineers will ensure continued operations and maintenance of a system. They will also provide technical surveillance and oversight of the design configuration baselines.
Salary Range: $75,000 -$125,000, depending on experience
You Will:

• Troubleshoot network security suite systems.
• Work in a team setting making recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation.
• Resolve issues in a timely manner dealing with a variety of different network devices and protocols following applicable reporting formats.
• Perform detailed technical analyses for a system, subsystem, or system elements.
• Proactively identify build problems and identify/document work arounds and fixes.
• Develop and/or revise system designs and architectures to improve efficiency, stability, effectiveness, supportability, and sustainability.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related taskings as needed.

You Have:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (preferred but not required).
• A wide range of experience and be able to apply to various technical situations.
• 4-5 years relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure.
• A solid understanding of TCP/IP regarding routing and subnetting.
• A strong working knowledge with Cisco devices, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Experience with the following Network protocols and services: Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP) and Access Control Lists.
• The ability to work in a dynamic, high paced, team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be willing to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment.
• 8570 compliance required; Cisco and Palo Alto certifications preferred.

We'd be Impressed if You Had:

• Hands on experience with the following: Palo Alto Firewall PA-4050, Palo Alto Firewall PA-2050, Palo Alto Firewall PA-5050, Cisco Switch/FWSM 6500-E, Cisco ASA 5500 Series Firewalls.
