General Description:
We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice program. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced journeyman Sprinkler Fitters, learning the necessary skills to install automatic fire protection systems. This role involves working in outdoor environments with temperature changes and occasional loud noises. Applicants must become members of Local 669. The starting salary is $21.62 per hour, with benefits including paid medical coverage for the whole family and two retirement funds paid by the company.
Essential Elements/Duties:
- Learn to install, repair, and maintain all types of fixed sprinkler systems, including underground piping.
- Work with steel, copper, and CPVC pipe materials.
- Travel to various job sites as necessary.
- Comply with the union collective bargaining agreement.
Job Qualifications:
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No prior experience required; apprenticeship program provided.
- Must have reliable transportation and appropriate footwear.
- Able to work Monday through Friday with regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
- Willingness to work in unconditioned environments with temperature variations.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
- Strong mechanical background preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Willingness to complete additional projects as assigned.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
