Associated Fire Protection is looking to hire Fire Protection Technicians.

General Description:
Supports the company by performing installations, testing, repair, inspection and maintenance of Fire Protection systems and equipment.
Essential Functions- including but not limited to:

• Perform installation, testing, repair, inspections, and programming as applicable, on all types of Fire Protection systems and equipment.
• Complete inspection reports and repair work orders via mobile device and submit them on a timely basis.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Pull materials for jobs as required.
• Maintain truck inventory when applicable.
• Communicate with customers review work and answer any service, quality or technical questions.
• Other job specific functions may be required depending on level.

General Functions

• This position includes a lot of interaction with customers and coworkers. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and enjoy collaboration with others
• The successful candidate should read and be aligned with company's mission statement, vision and values.
• Depending on skill level, the successful candidate must be able to manage, lead and mentor people.

Requirements
Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Experience working on Fire Protection systems and equipment is required.
• NICET certifications preferred.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc
• Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications as required in the area that you are working.
• Perform simple tasks independently.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Computer, phone and tablet literate.
• Well organized, self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
• Must be able to drive to and from jobs and have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to NY emergency service calls.

• The employee is often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Job sites may include construction sites and other locations where personal protective equipment will be required.
• Job sites may include confined spaces.
• The position has frequent periods of stress.
• Job sites may include schools, hospitals, jails, pharmaceutical companies and other companies that may require additional background checks and medical and drug screens.
