Job description

Summary
You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services Branch of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.
Responsibilities
You will identify, analyze, and determine the appropriate action necessary to correct hazardous conditions that may be difficult to recognize and where no specific requirement has been established.
You will review fire and life safety plans, specifications and product submittals for self help, renovations, remodels, and construction projects from concept to commissioning.
You will provide training both in house and to the Fire Department customer.
You will survey, inspect and functionality test fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems and portable fire extinguishers in accordance with applicable directives.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector inspecting facilities and structures for fire hazards and FIRE PROTECTION deficiencies; performing functional tests on fire suppression system and fire alarms; and interpreting and enforcing fire codes, regulations, and directives. GS-7
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-05 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring installed building systems (e.g. fire alarm systems and fire extinguishing equipment) are maintained and conducting fire and safety inspections.
