Our Facilities Division (FAC) has a great opportunity for a Fire Alarm Technician position. Under the general supervision of the supervisor, or other delegated authority, performs inspections and tests, preventative maintenance, repairs and makes minor modifications to Fire Alarm systems, security systems, public address and intercom systems, and emergency alert systems in strict accordance with established safety practices & procedures. We expect you should possess a high degree of proficiency in the repair, diagnosis, defective component replacement, functional test performance, disassembly and overhauling of Fire Alarm systems. Argonne has the following Fire Alarm systems:

Position Requirements
Minimum requirements for the position are:
- A minimum of three years' work related to Fire Alarm and detection system testing, maintenance and/or installation.
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level 1 certification in "Fire Alarm Systems" or "Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems" or agree to obtain such certification within 12 months of hire.
- Two years of specialized electronics training at a trade school or college having an electronics curriculum OR an associates or bachelor's degree in an electronics curriculum or related discipline OR the education equivalency can be obtained through technical training or work experience.

Although most of our Fire Alarm Technicians work the day shift some off shift coverage may be required.
