We are seeking a Fire Alarm Specialist and Service Manager to add to our team! In this career you will oversee Life Safety Limited Voltage Systems in new construction multi-family projects with our parent development and construction teams as well as several other of the top builders and developers in Atlanta. We will send the right candidates to building code courses, NICET training, jobsite safety education, necessary manufacturer training and maintain related certificates. Responsibilities may include:
This is not a position for someone without electrical or low voltage background.
Perform service calls on standard small commercial security systems, Fire Alarms manufacturers Silentknight / Fahrenheit, Gamewell-FCI, Notifier / Firelite, EST III, & Potter Electric
Perform preconstruction meetings with electrical supervisors and electrical subcontractors.
Walk rough ins, ensure systems are installed per approved shop drawings, NEC, company standards and meeting schedule. Notify managers, electrical supervisors, and subcontractors of any defects, violations or any other issues found.
Connect wiring to panels and power supplies, preaddress devices, troubleshoot circuits, program, and fully pretest systems.
Walk and perform test with local fire marshal, state inspector or electrical inspectors. Provide end user training.
Commission / trouble shoot networked and standalone fire systems, Vesda air sampling detectors, gas detection systems, security systems & emergency communications systems.
Assist on frontend of design, preconstruction, contract negotiations, scheduling, & coordinating suppliers.
Accept ownership of task, learn from mistakes, and always ensure positive customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
This is not a position for someone without electrical or low voltage background.
Previous experience in Fire Alarm or security system installations / programming.
Familiarity with hand and power tools, OHM's Law and multi-meter functions.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
Ability to handle physical workload.
Must pass background and basic screens.
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail
