Job Description: The Fire Alarm or Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for working with our project management and sales team to provide engineering design of life safety and Fire Alarm equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Have proficient knowledge of current codes such as NFPA and the principles and practices of fire protection engineering.
- Work with the sales and technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings and determine system layout.
- Proficient knowledge in using AutoCAD for engineering and applying Fire Alarms, suppression systems, access control, CCTV, and security systems.
- Perform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error-free work, as determined by the department manager.
- Complete engineering requests in accordance with sound business practices and general corporate policies.
- Review individual drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy of work performed.
- Prepare BOM, Close-Out Packages, Warranties.
- Understand and utilize company drafting procedures.
- Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of the company's current and new technologies.
- Promote a team environment.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the Management.
- Technical writing skills for documenting work performed and creating reports
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members and clients
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations related to Fire Sprinkler systems (e.g., NFPA)
- Familiarity with Revit software for 3D modeling of fire protection systems is a plus.
Experience: Fire Alarm or Fire Sprinkler design background required. AUTOCAD experience required. A Project Management/Sales/ or Estimation background is preferred but optional.
This position requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety.

Pay: $84,638.00 - $104,000.00 per year
