Fire Alarm Installation Technician

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Install all wiring to connect system components, complying with all applicable safety standards, codes and customers concerns, preferences or requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Interact with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction
• Inspect and test systems to ensure all components are performing well and comply with safety requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Fire Alarm and/or special hazard systems
• Identify and repair malfunctions in system components or wiring
• Exhibit excellent customer service, discussing any questions or concerns, customer training and ensuring customers are fully satisfied with the service they receive

Qualifications:

• 3-5 experience working as a Fire Alarm and security install and repair technician preferred
• Current NICET fire protection certification and/or State of Michigan licensing
• Familiar with NFPA codes and standards
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lift equipment
• Working knowledge of electrical testing equipment
