Fire Alarm Life Safety Technician Job Summary
We are looking for a Fire Alarm Life Safety Technician to service, install and update Fire Alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. You will perform inspections, test alarms, and troubleshoot or document any issues. You will also respond to emergency service calls and ensure the systems are functioning properly. Applicants for this position should have their Fire Life certification, which requires prior experience. You should also be knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.

Fire Alarm Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Service, Install or upgrade Fire Alarms in commercial and residential buildings
- Test and repair alarm systems already in place
- Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code
- Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
- Respond to emergency service calls
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Conduct site surveys to determine the best placement of alarm devices
- Collaborate with sales team to provide accurate quotes for alarm system installations
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- NICET certification preferred (requires prior experience or training)
- Knowledge of NFPA standards a plus (including 70 and 72)
- Experience with commercial and residential systems
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work on ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm sales and alarm system sales
- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools to build and install alarm systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues with alarm systems
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and explain technical concepts in a clear manner
- Ability to program, maintain, and install or upgrade DSC, Honeywell, 2Gig and other Alarm Systems.
