BoMar Soft Playgrounds is a specialized manufacturer of artistic playground equipment. Our niche products are soft and safe, being made almost entirely of foam and rubber. All work is done by hand, in-house, by a small team of less-than 10 artisans. Our operation is located near Tavares and Astatula, FL. Serving both domestic and international customers consisting of water-parks, theme-parks, and city municipalities. In addition to manufacturing new play features, our team travels the country performing on-site repairs/restorations of damaged foam-rubber playground features. We typically conduct 3 to 4 travel trips per year, hitting multiple locations in a single trip, with each trip lasting 1 to 3 weeks in duration.
We are currently looking for a talented individual who has skills in fine woodworking and finishing.
The following skills are needed for this position:
- Proven experience as a Woodworker or similar role
-Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools with precision:
- Maintain machines, such as by cleaning and oiling them or replacing worn blades/belts
- Saws, sanding machines, and other power tools
-Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50lbs and to stand for long periods of time on your feet
-Efficient in preparing various substrates for work.
- Judge how to preserve and repair certain substrates
- Install a variety of materials: These substrates may be nailed in place or glued down. Finishers will need to smooth the substrate or it may be prefinished prior to paint
- Fasten materials with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives and check their work to ensure that it is correct
-Keep your workspace organized and tidy
-Interpret project specifications
- Operators use equipment to cut and shape pieces and to verify dimensions, using a template.
- Basic understanding of geometry in order to visualize how a three-dimensional object will fit together
-Measure, mark, and cut pieces
- Ensure that products meet industry standards and project specifications, adjusting as necessary
- Select the proper cutting and sanding tools for completing a job
- Use hand tools to trim pieces or assemble products
-Shape, finish, and refinish using a handheld sander using project specifications
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
