Snow & Company is a leading boatbuilder and ship repair company in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. In Snow's carpentry department we build custom pilot houses, bunk rooms, galleys and other interior spaces on various types of workboats including pilot boats, tug boats, research vessels and fishing vessels. Additionally, we perform overhauls and repairs. Located on the ship canal we have modern enclosed fabrication halls along with waterfront repair facilities.

Our shop is on the Burke Gillman bike trail and within one block of the Metro bus so we are a commuter friendly workplace.

This is a finish carpentry position where we mainly look for cabinet and furniture makers. A history of strictly framing or construction will not qualify you for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, construct, and repair structural and finish woodwork by following blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions, using carpentry tools and equipment.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures,

rules, and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced shipyard with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. The individual will be required to be in production areas in yard and onboard vessels. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks; to work at heights. He/she may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
