The Financial Institutions Accounting Solutions Group is seeking a hands-on Senior Project Consultantto provide accounting solutions to our clients in the Financial Institutions industry. The Accounting Solutions Group provides outsourced accounting services to help credit unions and community banks to improve controls, identify opportunities to create efficiencies in accounting operations and increase membership value. The Consultant can work remote, ideally from Central Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and guidance during accounting system or banking system conversions and implementations.
- Write project status reports and recommendations as needed.
- Develop processes, procedures, and training videos for clients.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, as assigned, such as operating (bank) account, ACH and ATM/ITM transactions.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Prepare and review financial statements.
- Perform accounting tasks for various Financial Institutions clients.
- Utilize Excel to build models and streamline reconciliations.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports.
- Train interns and new team members on firm technology, assist them in their career development and reaching their career goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required.
- Minimum of 5 years of varied experience working in a financial institution (credit union or bank)
- Multiple banking and/or accounting systems experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of ACH and ATM/ITM balancing, preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience as a leader or key contributor in a project involving a conversion or implementation of a new process or system.
- Ability to travel up to 15%
